The Tropic Wear Sarong/Skirt is designed and made in sunny Cairns in Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia.
This unique sarong was designed to be adjustable to fit different sizes and it’s tubular design ensures that it won’t blow open.
Tropic Wear is based in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia.
I designed the Tropic Wear Sarong/Skirt because I wanted a garment that I would enjoy wearing, that would be comfortable and look different from all the mass-produced skirts and sarongs that you buy in the shops. I wanted a sarong with a bit of class, one that wouldn’t blow open and that would fit me exactly!
Once I had come up with the design, I knew the material had to be special as well. Standard tropical designs are very nice but there are so many mass-produced garments in these designs already that I wanted something different. At the time, I was experimenting with discharge-dyeing, where patterns are created on fabric by removing colour rather than by adding it. I tried this on rayon fabric (ideal sarong fabric!) and the results were spectacular.
I have been selling the Tropic Wear Sarong/Skirts at the local markets here in Cairns and at the world-famous Port Douglas Markets for some time now and they have proven very popular with women of all ages and sizes.
Now anyone can access these unique and original sarongs.
I hope you enjoy wearing them as much as I do!
